Well, yesterday was supposed to be a good easy-going day. It was also the first day with Sarah being in Germany. She left Friday evening and arrived around 3 am our time. She made it there ok and actually got some sleep on the plane. I had an appointment in Carrollton (an hour away) to sell a couple life policies to make some extra money, which is never a bad thing. I went out to my car at 9 am to go to the appointment. I did not know I didnt have any jumper cables anymore. I had parked outside the garage and had to push my car by myself to get it into a parking spot (that took about 20 minutes) and take her car to the appointment. I approached 3 people to ask for jumper cables and apparently nobody has those things. Arent those somewhat of a neccesity? Well, I eventually got into her car and went to Carrollton, sold the policies, stopped at Wally World to get two sets of jumper cables. One for me and one for her. I had looked all over for my old set and still havent found them. No clue where they went. Well, I got home and attempted to do a jump start, that didnt work bc the negative cable was so corroded that it was blue. Usually a corroded cable connector is white. That was my first sign. I spent some time with coke and a towel getting most of the corrosion off and was able to jump start the car. It took some work, but I got it. I called my car nerd brother and he confirmed my need for a new battery. I drove to his house to clean the old connector and actually diagnose the need for a new battery, unfortunately I did need a new one. No way around it. So he sends me to the AutoZone down the street from him. He was just there a couple days ago. I drove there and they didnt have my exact one in stock. I told the lady that I live in Alpharetta and can just go to that store and get it there. She told me that she can get someoe from "just down the street" to bring one here and it shouldnt take more than five to ten minutes. half an hour later, after she had already disconnected my battery it started to rain. The old battery was still in, but not connected. Once it started to rain, there was bascially, no, more specifically, nothing I could do but stand and wait. The guy with the battery showed up an hour and twenty minutes after she called him. Not 5-10 minutes, but 80. Not even close. And the whole time I was stuck there. Well, after he got there it stopped raining, and they put the new battery in. Now all I had to do was pay and leave. I did that and left all happy that I was no longer stuck at AutoZone. I then looked at my receipt and they charged me twelve dollars for a charging fee for the new battery. She didnt say anything about that. You are supposed to get some money ($12 in this case) for giving them your old battery. Good thing they did that, bc they got it right back out of me with this bogus charging fee. They didnt do anything to the battery when it got there. He took it out of his trunk and put it in my car. Where and when was the charging done? Who knows. I still need to call them and give em a piece of my mind. Well, that was after 4 pm at that point and I still hadnt eaten lunch. I was famished and ate finally after I got home. I didnt wanna see anyone -- i was in a sour mood. At least I got to talk to Sarah for over an hour and calm down. It seems that things seemed not so bad after all. In fact I did make a good commission that morning and that made it all not seem so bad. Well, that was my yesterday. Oh, well, there was one more thing. On the way out to Carrollton, they were doing construction on 285 and closed down two of the four lanes on 285 and it took me an extra 30 minutes to get to where I was going. This is after the whole battery fiasco. No way to guess why I was so irritated when I got home.
On a better side, im leaving in 8 days to go to Germany!!!! I cant wait!!!!
